12x24 Barn w/Loft and Metal Roof
Construction Blog

This building is 12 feet wide and 24 feet long.  The inside is framed such that you can insulate and panel it.  It has a double-panel door for its base configuration.  You can order it here.

It is ideal for many different purposes.  This building pictured here was ordered to be a storage building on a farm.

Started construction on 28 June 17.
Completed construction on 11 July 17.
Delivered to Quinter, Kansas on 12 July 17.
Had the holiday and some scorching days during the build.

If you right-click on any of the below images, you can open it into a new window to view full-size and with great detail.

Runners laid.  Our large building runners are built from a pair of treated 2x6's for a size of 4x6 inches.  These will resist warping and twisting better than a solid beam.

Floor joists attached, and hurricane strips affixed.  These are metal strips that tie the joists to the runners.
Floor system completed and leveled

Crossmembers and side rails installed.  The crossmembers support the plywood edges.  Floor frame is leveled.

Metal panels on the roof.  They had gotten some mud on them from the rain.  There is roofing felt sticking out from under the end of the metal.  This is installed to keep the condensation on the underside of the metal from ruining the wood sheeting.

The front end is finished.  Looks great!
